High Desert Bloom was born mid-elevation in the Mojave Desert. It smells like the evening air in the desert, when you’re settling into camp after a day of backpacking. The air starts cooling down, the birds come out and sing their songs and you smell that smell. All day long those plants have been hunkered down, simmering in the heat. Sunset breaks and in the cool of the evening, these plants come alive. It’s just drifting through the air, intoxicating everyone within a whiff’s reach, including the critters and birds. High Desert Bloom Everday Oil is the Conifer woodlands in a bottle.
Our little Desert Oil is a supreme moisturizer for men and women. It starts with a Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis) base. Jojoba is native to the Mojave Desert but is grown on farms all over the world; ours comes from an organic farm in Israel. Jojoba Oil is great for the skin because it’s the most similar plant oil to our own body’s sebaceous skin cells. It’s a premier body care oil due to its lightweight, gentle interaction with skin. Super moisturizing and long lasting, Jojoba Oil is an all-around great thing to put on your skin and hair.
To this beautiful base, we add a direct infusion of Desert Chaparral (Larrea tridentata), a truly freakish outlier in the plant world. The species is among the oldest living things on Earth, with the west Mojave’s King Clone Chaparral colony dating back as far as 10,000 years. It’s a resilient ingredient, one that has adapted through millennia in the desert sun. Desert Chaparral has preservatives that are essentially built-in, making it hardy and immune to extreme conditions.
Combined with Jojoba and Chaparral, we add distilled tree sap from Piñon Pines and Desert Cedar to round out the Mojave scent vibe. This little bottle will take good care of your skin and immerse you in the magical mystic Mojave. This is an oil for lifetime use so, enjoy freely.
