Yerba Santa and Douglas Fir & Rosehips Botanical Teas

People frequently ask us when we’ll expand our line of botanical teas, so we’re excited to share our dirty little secret. We’ve added two new members to our tea family: Doug Fir & Rosehips and Yerba Santa.

As always, these new teas aren’t so much “products” for us as they are passions. We pride ourselves on bringing nature’s harmony to our offerings, and as such our new teas are 100% sustainably harvested and contain no additives. This approach allows us to capture the richness of their natural flavors without compromise, bringing unforgettable taste with every sip. Each SFI Certified* box contains 20 unbleached bags and features packaging designed by California naturalist author and artist Obi Kaufman. Additionally, 10% of our profits from these teas are donated to a portfolio of Western Wilderness Defense organizations. We revel in the intact forest habitats of the west and tirelessly work to promote education as to how best to protect them.

When crafting our Doug Fir & Rosehips and Yerba Santa blends, we turned to California’s majestic coastal range for inspiration. The varied plant life found in California’s coastal mountains is eclipsed only by their beauty, and when conversations about rounding out our tea collection began, the richness and diversity of these treasured locales continually came to mind.

Our Yerba Santa tea actually began its life 20 years ago, when our founder Hall started selling it at the Berkeley farmer’s market. Back then Juniper Ridge had just begun, and harvesting botanical teas with a fledgling team proved overwhelming. The idea remained with us, however, and when the opportunity arose to bring back this delicate blend, we jumped at the chance. Still botanical, still 100% natural, we’re excited to welcome Yerba Santa to our expanded family of teas.

Our new Doug Fir & Rosehips tea was inspired by the rosehips that grow wild in the northern Californian coastal range. Married with the herbal notes of fresh Doug Fir tips, the rosehips add a gentle tartness that’s made this tea an office favorite. Whether hiking through the redwoods with a steeped canteen, a warm cup on a cool summer night, or enjoying a frosty glass of iced tea on a hot day, our Doug Fir & Rosehips tea is a refreshing addition we’re certain you’ll enjoy.

We hope you love our new teas as much as we do. With four offerings, we’ve rounded out our collection of teas to meet the needs of any occasion. Whether hosting a party or looking to unwind alone, our botanical teas provide the perfect touch.
