Essential oils are the most concentrated spirit of a plant, the most effective way to get to the sensory heart of nature. We have always set out to bring the outdoors into your home. The way we do that is to head out to our favorite places, hike and harvest, distill what we find, and put it in a bottle for you. Essential oils are the most pure, undiluted way to do what we love.
We chose these three scent profiles for two reasons: first, we are inspired by our passion for the places they come from and second, because they’re plant species that can be harvested sustainably.
When done carefully, a White Sage crop can be harvested indefinitely. In fact, the plants thrive from pruning and their hardiness improves with each harvest. Sage plants are in the mint family. Everything in the mint family is evolutionarily adapted to being grazed to the ground because they’re all edible, thus the enthusiastic response to pruning. Fir and Redwood boughs can be trimmed around the bottoms of tall trees. When harvested conscientiuosly, an ecosystem benefits from the removal of those bottom boughs and smaller, younger trees that can carry wildfires up into the taller canopy.
In our shameless effort to bring the outdoors to you, we bottled White Sage to invoke the scent notes of the high desert, Cascade Forest to transport you to the forested mountains of Pacific Northwest, and Redwood Mist, to bring you deep into the fog drenched forests of the California Coast.
White Sage – 100% wildharvested, steam-distilled White Sage (Salvia apiana) essential oil
Cascade Forest – 100% wildharvested, steam-distilled Western Mountain Fir (Abies spp.) essential oil
Redwood Mist – 100% wildharvested, steam-distilled essential oils of Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga douglasii) and California Bay Laurel (Umbellularia californica)
Open them, smell them, diffuse them. The best use for these oils is pure aromatherapy.
