As some of you may or may not know, we have been working tirelessly to throw our second trade show, Desert & Denim.
Last year’s Desert and Denim tradeshow brought Juniper Ridge and twenty three other pioneering brands to the hi-desert for a couple of days and we ended up creating an amazing and lasting community. We were living our own unreal dream caught somewhere between lucid euphoria and articulate oddity.
It had to happen again.
While the show isn’t totally open to the public, we really want to share with you guys the passion we have and the vision we are building.
The idea for Desert & Denim came about over beers one night, sometimes a couple drinks lets the ol’ juices flow! But seriously, we were tired of the monotony & repetition in the trade show circuit and decided to create an intimate atmosphere that allowed for a more organic conversation & connection. We also wanted to help all the brands & entrepreneurs we’ve befriended over the years. We’d like to think that we are building a tribe, everyone working to support each other. Our pack extends beyond brands too- this year we are hosting a psychedelic show at the famous Pappy & Harriets & we’ve recruited POW!, Mondo Drag & Dirty Fences to play! The team at Squarespace curated an art show for us at the local Taylor Junction Gallery showcasing Jen Musarri’s work. We have many more artists, photographers, magazines, etc coming to enrich our little eco-system. As you can tell D&D is not just a tradeshow, but a movement that we’re creating amongst the best in the world – a place to network and collaborate, connect with local and international visitors, and generally let our freak flags fly.
As we all navigate through 2016, with its endless opportunities for mindless spending, we at Juniper Ridge think it’s important to promote and nurture businesses with moral & ethical aim – we long for quality, craftsmanship and story. The hope is that Desert & Denim inspires you to keep working on your entrepreneurial dreams & hobbies while supporting stores & businesses who do the same.
Keep your eyes peeled as we will begin to share our 40 (!) vendors amazing brand stories with you.
